Area Relief Ministries hosts appreciation event for volunteers

JACKSON, Tenn. — Area Relief Ministries hosted their ‘How Do I Say Thank You Breakfast’ on Thursday morning, April 25.

This is an annual event to show appreciation for all of the volunteers who have made an impact at Area Relief Ministries.

Executive Director for ARM, Fred McKinnie, says that their Room at The Inn program would not be possible without their volunteers.

For just shy of two decades, ARM has been hosting that program.

McKinnie tells us more about it as well as some other great things they provide.

“It’s been beneficial that we’ve been able to give shelter to men during the cold months of the year. So that’s a great benefit to the community to keep the men off the street for that time. And then also we have a day center that they are allowed to come up and take showers. That’s five days a week, Monday through Friday,” said McKinnie.

McKinnie says they are always welcoming volunteers to help in any way.
