Jackson Christian hosts fundraiser for St. Jude, honors classmate

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson Christian Early Learning Village hosted a ‘Trike-a-Thon’ this morning, April 26.

Held in the elementary parking lot on campus, the Trike-a-Thon was in support of St. Jude.

Kids rode trikes, music was played, and snow cones were given out.

The PE teacher was then pied by whoever raised the most money.

In total, the school raised around $9,000 for St. Jude.

The event was in honor of a classmate who passed away from childhood cancer.

“This year is really, really special to us because we’re actually honoring one of our own. We had miss Selah come through the Early Learning Village and she passed away this past November and so, this year has just been extra special to us and our hearts,” said Mary Ramey, Director for Easy Learning Village at JCS.

Selah’s mother and grandparents were present today and a bench was made in her honor.

It has Selah’s name on it and will go in the early learning village.

Director Mary Ramey shares that the bench serves as a reminder to not only think of past and present students, but to pray for future students as well.
