Teen located safely after multiple agencies join effort
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — The search for a 17-year-old male Thursday in Crockett County resulted in the individual being safely located.
According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, around 9 a.m., they received a report of a runaway teen in rural Crockett County around Dade Ellington Road, outside of Gadsden.
It was reported that the individual was at risk to return home safely on his own, so the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department and rescue squad swiftly responded to the location to begin a search.
Additional agencies were called in to assist in the search, including Jackson Police, Gadsden Police and Gadsden Fire Department.
According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, numerous tips were received via Facebook of possible sightings of the teen.
“The juvenile was safely located and will be evaluated, and hopefully returned back and reunited with his family,” said Crockett County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Stephen Sutton. “We appreciate all of those that gave tips and our partnering agencies to bring about this positive result so that he could return back to his family.”
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the search involved helicopters, drones and deputies on foot.
