Woman faces multiple drug charges after traffic stop arrest
NEWBERN, Tenn. — A traffic stop leads to the arrest of a woman on multiple drug charges.
56-year-old Carolyn Tyler is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession schedule V, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Newbern Police Department, on Wednesday, an officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street due to a traffic violation.
Police say a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a felony amount of methamphetamine, multiple gabapentin pills, several baggies with methamphetamine residue, and drug paraphernalia.
Police say Tyler was taken into custody and transported to the Dyer County Law Enforcement Center for processing.
In a social media post regarding the arrest, the department made the effort to remind the community that suspects of alleged crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
