JMCSS holds 6th annual International Festival

JACKSON, Tenn. — An annual event returns highlighting culture and diversity.

The Jackson Madison County School System’s 6th annual International Festival was held this evening, May 3, at Liberty High School.

Upon arrival, attendees were able to get a passport and go around the world visiting different countries.

Each booth represented food, activities, crafts, and games from around the world.

Multiple students and teachers worked hard to put this free event on, and it helps to showcase the diversity of the local community.

Some countries represented include Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and El Salvador.

“Families have donated food or some of the teachers have made food at home using recipes online or recipes from the families. There’s also like games like crafts that are things that are done in that country or things, you know are symbols for those countries,” said Nancy Ibrahim, Districtwide ESL Coordinator.

The International Festival ended with performances in the auditorium from different countries around the world.
