Mostly Day Saturday, Storms Back Late Sunday into Monday!

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

A weak frontal boundary will lift to the north on Saturday and could bring a few showers or pop up storms, but we are not expecting much. Sunday evening some stronger storms are forecast to move in and continue Sunday night into Monday. Catch the latest hour by hour weekend forecast breakdown coming up here.

THE WEEKEND:

As of now the first half of the weekend isn’t looking too bad for us in West Tennessee. Highs will make it into the low 80s and morning lows will hang around 60°. The winds this weekend are expected to come out of the west for a while on Saturday before changing back to the south into the day on Sunday. Most of us are likely going to dry Saturday but there could be a few pop up showers along the front as it lifts back to the north in the afternoon.

Rain chances will increase some late in the day on Sunday with a few  evening storms being a possibility lasting into Monday morning. Rain chances on Sunday are only 60% after the sun goes down. There will be more clouds regardless late Sunday even if you do not see the storms in your area.

NEXT WEEK:

We are expecting some showers and storms to kick off next week on Monday. There is a chance the showers and storms clear out in time for the fireworks Monday night for the Strawberry Festival, but it is going to be close. Highs will stay in the low to mid 80s for most of next week and morning lows will hang between 65-70°. It will be a warm and humid week with the winds coming out of the south for the majority of the week as well. There will be some pop up showers or weak storms in the middle of next week but they will be hard to forecast exactly when and where they will be popping up. The reason for these showers will be due to the high humidity each afternoon. There appears to be a better shot for rain and storms towards the back half of the week, unfortunately just in time for the parades in Humboldt on Thursday. We could be looking at a dry day Friday and into the following weekend but that all depends on the timing of the late week cold front.

FINAL THOUGHT:

Rain showers and a few storms returned to West Tennessee this weak as a stalled out cold front moved through. Some showers may return this weekend but not everyone is going to see them. A mixed bag is on the way for the weekend as far as sun and clouds but it is going to be pretty warm and humid regardless. The current forecast keeps severe weather away from West Tennessee but some stronger storms cannot be ruled out late Sunday into Monday morning. Each day next week through Thursday we are going to encountered some showers and storms in you are planning on heading to Humboldt for the Strawberry  Festival fun, keep an eye on the weather each day before you head out.
