Oma Jean (King) Elam

Jean ElamOma Jean (King) Elam, 78, of Union City passed away 11:10 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at AHC Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Terry English will officiate.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Visitation will be held at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jean was born October 25, 1945, in Obion County, daughter of the late George Harvey and Nannie Ruth (Campbell) King. She was the widow of Charles Edward Elam who preceded her in death November 14, 2006. Jean enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Elam, Jr. of Gleason and Thomas Elam of Union City; two sisters, Beverly Rhodes of Rives and Sherry Hollie of Sandersville, Georgia; one brother, John King of Pensacola, Florida; one sister-in-law, Linda Elam Cornwell of Hessel, Michigan; three grandchildren, K.J. Elam (Jessica) and Thomas Elam II (Bri) both of Union City and Eternity Elam of Puryear; and nine great grandchildren, Kenneth, Bronix, Tristan, Trey, Joanna, Kensley, Brantley, Lily and Amelia.

She was also preceded in death by one infant granddaughter, Alexandria Chelsea Elam; and two brothers, George Harvey King and Stanford Thomas King.
