RIFA partners up for its largest annual food drive

JACKSON, Tenn. — RIFA is partnering with the USPS and the National Association of Letter Carriers to conduct their national food drive, ‘Stamp Out Hunger.’

Since 1993, the food drive has helped feed millions of Americans each year.

The timing is important with food banks running low after the winter holidays and with most school meal programs suspended.

On May 11, as they deliver mail, Jackson letter carriers will collect donations left in mailboxes.

Residents are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, pasta, or cereal in their mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday.

“We are so grateful for our letter carriers who pick those up and have the, it’s the single largest food drive of the year,” said Denice Walton, Community Relations Manager at RIFA.

These food donations help feed local residents.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be picked up rain or shine.
