Pet owners strut their stuff for charity

LEXINGTON, Tenn.—One community struts their stuff to raise money for a local cause.

The 2024 Mutt Strut and Pawpalooza was held today in Lexington.

The event offered a unique way for pet owners to not only have fun spending time with their four legged friends but also give back to the community.

The fun run began at 11 this morning and featured a scenic 1-mile walk or jog around Beech Lake. Participants could even win a medal.

There was food, live entertainment, a petting zoo, bounce houses for the kids, and corn hole tournaments for various ages.

The fundraiser also featured a silent and cake auction, along with a raffle to win prizes.

“It’s just, you know, a fun-filled family day and it’s good, you know, that people get out and support your animals,” said Brandy Dennison, Executive Director, Frances Henley Animal Shelter.

Proceeds from the Mutt Strut and Pawpalooza will benefit the Frances Hensley Animal Shelter in Henderson County.
