Jackson Theatre Guild host auditions for its summer performance

JACKSON, Tenn.—A local theater company prepares for a summer performance.

Jackson Theatre Guild hosted auditions this afternoon for the upcoming musical production of The Addams Family.

The auditions were held at 314 East Main Street inside the former City Hall building in Jackson.

Today marked day two of the auditions.

The musical tells the story of the quirky Addams family.

And will follow the life of a girl named Wednesday as she seeks to embark on a life of independence. It will address her search for love and her family’s struggle to accept her choices.

The production will be directed by Billy Worboys and choreographed by Renee Brooks.

“In this particular scenario, Wednesday Addams has grown up to become an eighteen-year-old girl. She’s fallen in love and ready to get married with a wonderful, and smart, great guy with one flaw, he comes from a normal family. Which is the antithesis of what the Addams family is,” Worboys said.

The scheduled dates for the production are set for July 12 – 20.
