JMCSS prepares for production of Annie Jr.

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local school district is holding a first of its kind performance, bringing song and dance to the West Tennessee community.

The Jackson-Madison County School District is holding a production of the musical Annie Jr.

With 40 kids from 11 schools, this is the first K-8 musical for the district.

The cast has been rehearsing since February.

They say their production is similar to the movie, but they put their own special touch on it.

Director for the musical, Emily Stutts, says the community has truly come together to make their sets look amazing, and there have been many moving parts.

“We’ve been very fortunate that parents have been able to be involved and pick up and drop off, and principals have been wonderful to work with all around, and we’ve had a lot of support and getting everybody on the same page and it’s been a pretty awesome ride,” said Stutts.

There will be performances from May 16 through the 18, at Liberty High School.
