Wanted felon ‘eating meth’ arrested after fleeing from authorities

UPDATE FROM THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE:

On Friday May 10th, Agents attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in Humboldt. The driver, identified as Michael Woodrell, 40, of Humboldt, refused to stop and fled from Agents.
Woodrell led Agents on a pursuit through north Humboldt into Gibson County and back into Humboldt. During the pursuit, Woodrell attempted to ram several DTF vehicles as well as innocent motorists. Agents could see Woodrell eating methamphetamine from a large plastic bag and smiling during the pursuit.
Agents were able to force Woodrell to come to a stop prior to him coming back into Humboldt proper where he left the vehicle in gear and fought with them to keep from being taken into custody. an Agent jumped into the car and stopped it before it crashed into another vehicle while others were able to take Woodrell into custody. Agents were able to recover approximately 1/2 ounce of meth from the floorboard of the vehicle.
Woodrell was wanted for outstanding warrants for violation of probation, domestic assault and driving charges prior to this. He has been charged with additional numerous felony charges in connection with this incident. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
This case is being prosecuted by The Office of the District Attorney General, 28th Judicial District, Frederick Agee.

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Several suspects were arrested as authorities patrolled Gibson County during the Strawberry Festival.

According to the West Tennessee Drug Task Force – 28th, 29th, 30th Districts, agents made 10 arrests in the Gibson County area between Thursday and Saturday night.

These arrests include the seizure of five weapons, along with 1/2 an ounce of cocaine, nearly an ounce of methamphetamine, and marijuana.

The Drug Task Force also says one violent wanted felon was captured, who was “eating meth” as he ran from agents in his car.

These cases will be prosecuted by The Office of the District Attorney General, 28th Judicial District, Frederick Agee.
