1 dead, 1 injured in east Jackson shooting

UPDATE (5/15/24): Jackson Police have confirmed the shooting resulted in one person dead and another person injured. Authorities have not confirmed any further details at this time. Stay with us online and on-air as we’ll provide an update once additional information is received.

JACKSON, Tenn. — Tonight, May 14, we bring you a developing story on a large police presence in one part of the Hub City.

According to Deputy Chief Derrick Tisdale, with the Jackson Police Department, preliminary investigation points toward a shooting on FE Wright Drive in east Jackson.

Upon arrival our crews found that both lanes of traffic were blocked and rerouted.

At the scene, our crews counted more than 24 evidence markers alongside the road from a starting point in front of the Sonoco factory to Jackson Fire Station number 3.

Officers could be seen surveying the road with flashlights on scene, and ambulances leaving with lights flashing.

At this time, we are still awaiting further information from the Jackson Police Department.
