4 cows ‘taken into custody’ for trespassing

FROM THE CROCKETT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT:

FOUR COWS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY OF SHERIFF KLYCE FOR TRESPASSING

We have had 4 cows trespassing for some time on Highway 152 and these cows have milked it for all it’s worth. We have received numerous calls over the past couple of days about them being in the road and udderly destroying private property.

Our deputies have been dealing with these cows every day for over a week and clearly are no longer amooosed.

Because the steaks were high, Sheriff Klyce had them taken into custody this morning for their own safety as they were unable to steer clear of oncoming traffic.

These subjects are not considered armed or dangerous – nor do we have beef with them – just need the owner to get them back into their pasture.

The Sheriff’s Department confirms the owners of the cows have now made contact.
