Adamsville High School celebrates completion of ‘Zero Fight’ challenge
ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. — Every challenge comes with a reward, and that’s just what the students at Adamsville High School got for completing the ‘Zero Fight’ challenge initiated by their principal.
Principal Steve Killingsworth has tried for the last six consecutive years to reach their goal that requires no fights for the entire school year.
This school year, the students made it peacefully through the entire 36 weeks, and a celebration today served as a thank you.
They were rewarded with food, games, and of course, a good time with their peers.
“So every year, at the beginning of the school year, Mr. Killingsworth, our principal, meets with each grade level and lays out his vision for that school year. And it always ends with, ‘Hey, if you guys can make it all school year long and not have a fight on campus I will grill you burgers at the end of the year myself’. You know he gets out there and does the actual work himself. Uh, and it’s just special because it’s kind of a highlight of what our students were able to accomplish this year,” said Andrew Walz, Social Media Manager for AHS.
Another surprise attraction was the pot bellied pig, which their English teacher, Ms. Wilder, agreed to kiss in a separate challenge as part of a recent fundraiser event.
They plan to continue the ‘Zero Fight’ challenge for the next school year.
