JACKSON, Tenn. — This week is National Police Week and one local Kroger celebrates by giving.

Kroger’s W University Pkwy location provided lunch for officers of the Jackson Police Department today.

The boxed lunches contained sandwiches, cookies, fresh fruit, chips and drinks.

All officers were also given a Kroger gift card.

Corporate Affairs Manager, Sheleah Harris, shares that this gift a just a small token of appreciation.

“Our purpose is to feed the human spirit, and we do that in so many ways. And this is just another way that we show up and support the community,” said Harris.

“Any time anybody gives us any kind of encouragement, or just a thank you, or any kind of supportive comment, that obviously means so much to us and we’re so thankful for that,” said Randall Ervin, Patrolman for JPD.

National Police Week lasts through Saturday, May 18, and is a reminder to honor law enforcement officers for their service.
