Local student selected for Ambassadors of Music Tour to Europe
HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A local high school music student is making the musical trip of a lifetime.
Scotts Hill High School sophomore Grace Crawford will be going to Europe in June as part of the Tennessee Ambassadors of Music Tour.
The tour offers talented student musicians an opportunity to explore the best of Europe, with a 15 day tour through five countries, including performances in historic venues.
She tells us she was nominated to make the trip by her music teacher, Mr. Ashby.
Grace, who began playing clarinet as a freshman, tells us how music has been her inspiration.
“I want to be a music teacher, cause I enjoy music,” said Grace.
“At first, I didn’t want to be an artist, but then, when I got into band, that changed my mind cause I enjoyed it more, and I’ve made a lot of new friends,” said Grace.
What makes this journey so unique is the fact that Crawford is the only student from Henderson County who is going.
Grace is scheduled to leave West Tennessee in about a month.
