Officials pull vehicle out of river in south Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Earlier this afternoon we received a tip from one of our WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipsters about a large police presence on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge.

As our team arrived to the scene, the Jackson Police Department and Jackson Fire Department were there, along with a tow truck company.

A tow truck was in the ditch pulling a silver SUV.

The vehicle was covered in mud and tree branches with the windows missing.

As of now, we are unsure of how this vehicle got there or who it belongs to.

Our crew at the scene says it appeared to be empty.

We reached out to the Jackson Police Department, but haven’t received any information at this time.

Stay with us on air and online for potential updates.
