Renovations begin on FHU’s Loyd Auditorium

HENDERSON, Tenn. — Freed-Hardeman University begins renovations on one of their most beloved buildings.

Opening in 1976, FHU’s Loyd Auditorium has seen very little changes since it was built.

President of the University, David Shannon, says these renovations are long overdue.

He says it will help them better serve the community and their students in many different ways.

Also, FHU is giving people the chance to come in and take home some of the chairs themselves.

Quite a few people were taking advantage of this Thursday morning. President Shannon explains why they are excited.

“Loyd is kind of the hub on campus for any major event,” Shannon said. “We have daily chapel, and graduation, Makin’ Music, large theatrical productions, the list just goes on of reasons this place is deeply embedded in people’s hearts and in their memories.”

If you would like to get some chairs for yourself, Friday is your last chance, from 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon.
