Community members gather for worship event

JACKSON, Tenn.—Rain didn’t stop one group of people from coming together to worship.

Christians from around West TN joined together for a day to celebrate their faith.

The event, originally planned as the “Walk for Jesus,” was reworked after rain pushed the event indoors.

The service was moved to Jackson First Assembly and began just after 11 this morning.

The event included praise music, a speaker, a prayer session, and fellowship amongst friends and congregation members.

“Our desire for our church here is to be a multicultural church. To reach out into every language group, every race, and bring the love of Jesus,” said Pastor Garry Martin, Jackson First Assembly.

The event was organized to join the thousands of Christians from around the world in a day of worship.
