Brownsville prepares for return of Exit 56 Blues Fest
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — There’s no blues like the Brownsville blues!
The 14th annual Exit 56 Blues Fest is returning on May 25 and 26.
The free outdoor festival starts at 10 a.m. on both days and takes place on the grounds of the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center in Brownsville.
People are coming from all over to celebrate the legacy of the country blues in the hometown of blues pioneers like “Sleepy” John Estes, Hammie Nixon, and Yank Rachell.
The mission of the festival is to preserve blues music and to promote up-and-coming artists.
“Our weekend also includes a corvette car show, a classic car cruise in. We’ve got arts and crafts on the ground both days and lots of great food vendors including Brownsville BBQ,” said Sonia Outlaw-Clark, Director for the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center.
This event is outdoors, and occurs rain or shine, so bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music.
