The Ned offers hand-on experience through Theater Tech Camp
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Ned’s Theater Tech Camp started today, May 28, and ends this Friday, May 31.
The camp is for ages 12 through 18 and lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The goal is to teach young artists who want to see the behind-the-scenes of all the elements that go into making a production happen.
From lighting to sound design, campers are able to get hands-on experience in the theater.
“From an audience perspective it can look like it just all happens but I promise there are almost about the same amount of hands working backstage as the hands that you see onstage, as in the actors and everything,” said David McCall, director of The Ned.
For a chance to see show magic at work, you can come to the Ned’s upcoming performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
The show will take place June 13th through 15th. To purchase tickets, click here.
