DRESDEN, Tenn.— Friday is Day 4 of the David Swift Murder Trial. His lawyer has built their case around the lack of evidence pointing towards Swift.
Agent Smith with Jackson Police Department’s Forensics Lab shared she did a DNA test on a comforter, a dumbbell, and a boot for blood.
Friday she shared the results with the jury.
“I obtained a limited DNA profile. I was able to tell there was at least one male present, but because it was limited it was inclusive to do any kind of comparison. The right front half of the boot, the presumptive chemical testing for blood it did not indicate the presence of blood so it was negative,” Smith shares.
An agent with the TBI says he also ran some DNA test on items in the car driven by Karen Swift.
He swabbed the steering wheel, gear shifts, glasses found, and two phones that were found.
“The Verizon cell phone, the ear area and the keyboard were swabbed for DNA. Reading from my report-a partial DNA profile was obtained which is consistent with a mixture of genetic material from at least two individuals. The major contributor is an unidentified female which I labeled as “Female 2,”” the agent shared.
