Local golf association teaches more than game skills to youth
JACKSON, Tenn. — Many people who play golf would agree that it takes much more than skill to be great.
One local program looks to teach that to young players not only on the course, but also in life.
The Hub City Junior Golf Association aims to teach their players about responsibility, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, and many other great lessons.
Head coach James Harris says that learning the ins and outs of being successful in golf can also help these players as they get older in life.
“We basically want to encourage the kids to stay on path, which is also the goal of life,” Harris said. “To stay on path with these different rules and regulations, it should help you to stay on path.”
Coach Harris says that golf is a very personal game, however, there is a big team aspect to it as well.
