Police investigate evening shooting near midtown Jackson

UPDATE (5/31/24): West Forest shooting: Multiple detained, police seek additional suspects

JACKSON, Tenn. — Law enforcement investigate a shooting near midtown Jackson.

Jackson Police were investigating the scene at West Forest and Sunnyside Drive Thursday evening.

We received a call from one of our WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News tipsters who shared with us that shots were fired at a home in the area.

One of our team members saw multiple shell casings at the scene.

We reached out to JPD who confirmed that a house received damage, however there are no reported injuries as of now.

West Forest was blocked from drivers coming down the street onto Hollywood Drive.

No further information has been confirmed by authorities and an investigation remains ongoing.
