Early Week Storms, Late Week Sunshine
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

The storms approaching West Tennessee during the 9 PM will stay just south of us. But another round will develop around a low pressure system Tuesday morning. A few storms may try to redevelop in the afternoon on Tuesday but overall our severe weather threat is low. We are currently under a Marginal (1/5) risk for severe storms. Catch the latest forecast details coming up here.

TONIGHT:
Showers and storms returned to West Tennessee on Monday after a short break in the action on Sunday. Some of the storms produced small hail and gusty winds. There was some scattered lightning and brief heavy rain too. There will be a few lingering showers and storms tonight but more will return on Tuesday. Skies will remain mostly cloudy tonight and the winds will vary in direction. Overnight lows will fall down to around 70° tonight. Chances for rain are 60% this evening and tonight.

TUESDAY:
Mostly cloudy skies and southerly winds will be sticking around for most of the day in West Tennessee. Some of the storms could be strong as all of West Tennessee is under a marginal (1/5) risk for severe storms. Gusty winds will be the main threat although a few cells producing small hail will also be possible. Everything is still pretty saturated currently across the region so some isolated flooding cannot be ruled out either. Highs on Tuesday will reach the mid 80s and Tuesday night lows will again fall down to around 70°. Chances for rain on Tuesday are 80% in our viewing area.

WEDNESDAY:
Rain showers and cloud cover will likely be sticking for the first half of the day on Wednesday. The rain showers will look to clear out late in the day and a few storms will be possible but the severe weather threat looks quite low as of now for Wednesday. Highs on Wednesday will reach the low to mid 80s and Wednesday night lows will fall down to the mid to upper 60s. Rain chances on Wednesday are 70%. The winds will stay out of the southwest before trying to transition on Thursday behind a weak cold front.
THURSDAY:
Sunshine will return on Thursday as some drier and quieter air will move in behind a cold front. High temperatures could reach the mid 80s depending on the timing of the front but if the front shows up early, we are likely looking at low 80s for a high. Thursday night will be a little cooler with overnight lows dipping down to the low to mid 60s. Skies will be clear Thursday night and the wind will start out of the west before coming more out of the northwest Thursday night. Chances for rain are 10% before the sun comes up Thursday morning.
FRIDAY:
Friday looks like a really nice day across West Tennessee and will probably be the best day of the week. Rain is not in the forecast and we only see a few afternoon clouds. Highs on Friday will make it up to the low 80s and Friday night lows will fall down to around 60°. Friday will not be a humid day as the winds are forecast to come out of the northwest. Chances for rain are 0%.
THE WEEKEND:
The weekend is going to be a tricky forecast until about Thursday as a stalled out frontal boundary is expected to develop somewhere close to the mid south. As of now, we are expecting a mostly dry day on Saturday and a few pop up showers chances on Sunday. The system does not look like a big severe weather maker even if it impacts us some some, but weak storms or showers will be possible. The winds this weekend will come out of the northwest on Saturday and back to the west on Sunday. There will be more clouds on Sunday but partly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday. Rain chances are 20% on Saturday and 30% on Sunday right now. If you are planning on heading to the CMA fest this weekend, keep an eye on the forecast so you know if you need to bring an umbrella or poncho to the event.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Early week storms will again impact most of West Tennessee what seems like the 8 week in row dealing with showers and storms across the Mid South. There could be a cooler and quieter weather pattern setting up for the middle of June but we will need to get through the beginning of the month. Highs will hang around normal for this time of the year. No significant severe weather looks to be heading our way but there are still a few chances for showers and storms this week.
