One More Day Of Storms Before A Shift To Sunshine
Wednesday AM Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Showers and Storms will continue to move through the area this morning followed by a break in the rain most of late morning through the early afternoon. Another round of storms will return in the mid to late afternoon hours but storms should remain below severe limits.
TODAY:
A good chance of showers and storms early morning, then, partly cloudy and humid in the lower 70s. A few storms will be possible again mid to late afternoon, but the severe weather threat looks quite low as of now for Today. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s and tonight’s lows will fall down to the mid to upper 60s. Rain chances around 70%. The winds will stay out of the southwest before trying to transition on Thursday behind a weak cold front.
THURSDAY:
Sunshine will return on Thursday as some drier and quieter air will move in behind a cold front. High temperatures could reach the mid 80s depending on the timing of the front but if the front shows up early, we are likely looking at low 80s for a high. Thursday night will be a little cooler with overnight lows dipping down to the low to mid 60s. Skies will be clear Thursday night and the wind will start out of the west before coming more out of the northwest Thursday night. Chances for rain are 10% before the sun comes up Thursday morning.
Cooler and drier air is heading our way and will arrive on Friday.
FRIDAY:
Friday looks like a really nice day across West Tennessee and will probably be the best day of the week. Rain is not in the forecast and we only see a few afternoon clouds. Highs on Friday will make it up to the low 80s and Friday night lows will fall down to around 60°. Friday will not be a humid day as the winds are forecast to come out of the northwest. Chances for rain are 0%.
THE WEEKEND:
The weekend is going to be a tricky forecast until about Thursday once we see how fast the cold front and low pressure take to move out of our area. As of now, we are expecting a mostly dry day on Saturday and a few pop up showers chances late Saturday night and into the day on Sunday. The system does not look like a big severe weather maker even if it impacts us still some, but weak storms or showers will be possible. The winds this weekend will come out of the northwest on Saturday and back to the west on Sunday.
There will be more clouds on Sunday but partly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday. Rain chances are 20% on Saturday and 40% on Sunday right now. If you are planning on heading to the CMA fest this weekend, keep an eye on the forecast so you know if you need to bring an umbrella or poncho to the event.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Early week storms will again impact most of West Tennessee what seems like the 8 week in row dealing with showers and storms across the Mid South. There could be a cooler and quieter weather pattern setting up for the middle of June but we will need to get through the beginning of the month. Highs will hang around normal for this time of the year. No significant severe weather looks to be heading our way but there are still a few chances for showers and storms this week.
