Main Street Brownsville unveils new bike racks as part of collaborative initiative

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — If you’re ready to cycle across West Tennessee, Brownsville might just be the place to be.

Main Street Brownsville and Ford BlueOval City partner up to unveil new bike racks that support Bike Tennessee’s effort to establish an even safer way to travel as a collaborative initiative to encourage health and wellness.

“Today they’ve built bike racks knowing that our Bike TN visitors are going to be using that as well as residents from Brownsville can pull up with their bike secure them safely and be able to enjoy all this great downtown,” said Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Mark Ezell.

Cyclists can take a ride on the new bike Tennessee route as it debuts today, and they can use the ride with GPS program to locate their whereabouts based on their points of interest.

“Two weeks ago we just introduced TN which will be 52 routes, cycling routes that are all throughout the state encompassing 17-hundred miles where visitors can come get their bikes and cycle throughout the amazing beauty of Tennessee,” said Ezell.

We’re one of only two states to introduce this cycling program.

“This is going to allow people to get on those routes, come downtown. Makes sure their bike is secured and they can show and they can eat and it really just help the whole community,” said Marianne Dunavant, community relations manager for Ford BlueOval City.

The program aims to boost visitation and economic impact throughout Tennessee, capitalizing on the growing community.

If you’re on the Ride Tennessee app, the West Tennessee Classic Loop route offers an authentic cycling experience through 37 miles of rural roads and rich Haywood County farmland.
