Miss Volunteer America Pageant Week is returning to the Hub City

JACKSON, Tenn. — Mark your calendars!

A popular pageant is returning to downtown Jackson.

The National Miss Volunteer America Pageant Week is coming to the Carl Perkins Civic Center.

Preliminary competitions are June 19th through the 21st with finals on June 22nd.

Miss Volunteer America is a nationwide, service-oriented scholarship program based in Tennessee.

Miss Tennessee Volunteer, Jada Brown, shares her experience so far.

“I serve as Governor Bill Lee’s spokesperson for character education, so I have chosen the character trait ‘care’. So, I’ve travelled the entire state of Tennessee teaching our children how important it is to, not only care about themselves, but to care and love about everyone no matter of their differences,” said Brown.

Brown has been able to reach around 70-thousand school children teaching about the importance of care.
