Justin Kiara Holliday
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Justin Kiara Holliday, who ascended into the arms of The Lord on May 30, 2024, in his beloved hometown of Jackson, Tennessee.
Born on March 24, 1989, to Elsie Holliday, Justin was embraced and nurtured by his “3 mamas” – his mother Elsie, his Maw Maw Lois Watkins, and his Aunt Melissa Holliday. His family grew in love when he asked if Mr. Michael Perry could be his daddy, and thus, Michael became a devoted father and husband, enriching Justin’s life with guidance, support, and a sense of belonging.
Justin’s childhood was filled with adventures as part of a military family, traveling the world and gaining wisdom and experiences that shaped his character. His bond with his little brother, Sidney Perry, was forged through shared journeys and heartfelt moments. A proud graduate of Ramstein High School in Germany, Justin’s commitment to service led him to enlist in the United States Air Force, where he continued his family’s legacy with dedication and excellence. After his honorable service, he extended his contributions as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan. Justin’s versatility shone through in various careers, from IT and customer service to freight, and he found his professional home at NCR, where he aspired to climb the career ladder.
On September 3, 2022, Justin married the love of his life, LaNae Cole Holliday, blending their families and creating a home overflowing with love and laughter. Justin’s greatest joy was his family – his first-born Joseph C. Fondreaux-Holliday, his second-born Kiara Z. M. Holliday, and his cherished bonus children Jakari Ingram, Jaydin Poe, Jerrin Poe, and Jordyn Poe. Together, they welcomed Journey Marilyn Elsie Holliday, who added even more love to Justin’s heart. Justin delighted in spending time with his children, sharing his passions for anime, video games, education, and creativity.
Sovereign Inspector General Brother Justin Holliday, Grand Patron for the state of Tennessee, and Worshipful Master for JR Boyd #7 was a respected member of The Melchizedek Brotherhood and the Order of the Eastern Star, which exemplified a heart devoted to service and compassion. Justin’s vibrant spirit made him the life of every gathering. He was a music enthusiast, a talented DJ, and a skilled musician, always ready to share a song or dance. His love for reading, playing dominoes, and strategizing in chess brought joy to those around him.
Justin was preceded in death by his maternal Great-grandparents Prentice and Beatrice Watkins, paternal Great-grandparents Clark and Vonlee Holliday; maternal Great-great Aunt Elsie Terry; maternal Great-Aunts Francis Blissett and Gradia White; paternal Great-Aunts Ruby Holloway, Brenda Holliday and Alma Brice; maternal Great-uncles Prentice A.
