Reelfoot Lake events you won’t want to miss this summer

TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. — Summer is around the corner! Here are some upcoming events you won’t want to miss.

Reelfoot Tourism is hosting a catfish tournament on June 29 and 30.

Registration, launch and weigh-in will be at White’s Landing in Tiptonville.

The top three winners get cash prizes.

Reelfoot Lake is also hosting fireworks and entertainment on Friday, July 5.

There will be a performance at 7 p.m. by the three man band “Blue Eyed Soul.”

The dazzling fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public so bring a chair or blanket and come on out.

There will also be food by Lake County Rescue.

Reelfoot also has options for hiking, kayaking, picnics, scenic drives, and more.

“We do have over 94 eagle nests around the lake and the eagles, they are fledglings now so there’s a lot of still activities around the nest so people can enjoy a wide variety of things around Reelfoot Lake here in the summer months,” said Katrina Greer, executive director for the Reelfoot Lake Tourism Council.

The lily pads will also be blooming.
