Tennessee’s 28th Attorney General speaks at Jackson Rotary Club meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rotary Club welcomed a special speaker today.

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti spoke at their meeting, which took place at First United Methodist Church in downtown Jackson.

He spoke about big social media companies and the harm they cause towards children.

Skrmetti clarified that he isn’t looking for a cash grab or a chance to micro manage these companies but wants them to stop their hurtful actions.

“They need to put in guardrails. They need to put in warnings because the impact is severe. Anxiety and depression, suicidality, sleep deprivation, all these measurable impacts that are showing our kids are not as well as they used to be,” said Skrmetti.

Jonathan Skrmetti currently serves as the 28th Attorney General and Reporter for the state of Tennessee.
