Sergeant Andy Bailey remembered with 20th Anniversary Ride
JACKSON, Tenn.—One special group of bikers ride to honor a fallen local hero.
A benefit motorcycle ride was held this morning in Jackson.
The SGT. Andy Bailey 20th Anniversary Ride began at 10 this morning in the parking lot of the City of Jackson Police Department. The parade of motorcycles traveled from there to the site SGT. Bailey was killed in the line of duty on June 17, 2004.
Registration for the benefit ride was $20 per bike and those proceeds will go to local charities including the Andy Bailey Scholarship Fund, JPD Public Safety Fund, and the TN Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation.
“I worked with Andy Bailey. I knew him, he was a good friend as well as a good police officer and this is the twentieth anniversary of him being killed in the line of duty here in Jackson,” said Jerry Priddy, Secretary of Treasury Blue Knights.
A memorial dedication service will also be held in honor of SGT. Bailey on Monday, June 17 at 9am.
That will take place at the intersection of North Highland Ave. and the southwest corner of W. Deaderick Street in Jackson.
