Summer Is Few Days Away, But Summer Heat Is Here
Saturday AM Update
A mostly dry weather pattern will settle in for the weekend as high pressure in the bigger picture will combine with abundant sunshine and lack of breezes to make for a hot Father’s Day weekend. Chances will remain very low and only a convective localized pop up storm would occur at best as most want see rain this weekend.
The combination of higher dewpoints, or moisture in the air, and temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will make for a very hot setup. Today will feel more like the upper 90s through much of the afternoon and tomorrow will feel more like the triple digits!
TODAY:
Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. High temperature of 95 and heat index of 96-98. Calm to very light winds from the east 2 to 5 mph.
TONIGHT:
Mostly clear, humid, and warm. Lows around 70 with calm winds.
FATHER’S DAY:
Sunny, hot, and humid. High of 97 and a heat index of 103. South winds around 3-5 mph.
Monday into Tuesday will bring slightly cooler temperatures back to the lower 90s and better rain chances. Highs will stay in the lower 90s until Thursday. Thursday will bring the first day of summer and highs back to the mid 90s.
The 6 to 10 day outlook has us drier than normal and warmer than normal so get ready for some summer heat. The first day of Summer will arrive on Thursday.
