Miss Volunteer America contestants unwind before upcoming competition

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Miss Volunteer America Pageant is quickly approaching and the contestants are making their way around the Hub City ahead of the competition.

Monday, the ladies visited the Empire 8 Theatre to unwind and de-stress, fittingly, watching Miss Congeniality.

They say the Jackson community has been very welcoming since their arrival.

The preliminary rounds of the competition start Wednesday, June 19, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center and will last through Friday, June 21.

The winner will be crowned on Saturday night.

“I just want to thank the City of Jackson for hosting our national pageant. We could not think of a better place to be a host. The people here are so gracious to us and the entire community just rallies around us while we try to impact these young women’s lives and empower them to propel into their future endeavors,” said Hannah Perrigin, Miss Volunteer America 2024.

Also some exciting news this year, the Miss Volunteer America Pageant will be livestreaming the competition every night, at no charge.
