No injuries in Interstate 40 truck fire

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Some interstate travelers experienced a frightening scene Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a semi truck could be seen engulfed in flames on Interstate 40 near the Madison/Henderson County line.

The incident occurred in the eastbound lane near mile marker 96.

The Madison County Fire Department says their crews assisted the Henderson County Fire Department in extinguishing the flames.

Madison County Fire confirms no injuries were reported.

Authorities have not shared the cause of the fire at this time.
