Fundraiser brings community together in support of grieving family
JACKSON, Tenn. — One family receives some help from the community following a tragic loss earlier this year.
A fundraiser, held at the West Tennessee Farmers Market, benefits Jessica Wray and her three children to cover essential financial expenses after the loss of her husband, James Wray.
“We know that people of West Tennessee have a big heart and want to give. They look for a cause like this to be able to do something that they probably couldn’t do, where it’s more on a personal level. So, yeah it’s very heart warming for sure,’ said Michael Doles, morning host at 101.5 WNWS.
After an auto accident, James Wray went missing on February 6, 2024, and no sighting of him was reported for two months until his body was found floating in a pond on Easter Sunday in Perry county. The Wray Fundraiser is a way to give back to the family as they continue to pick up the pieces from a significant loss.
“We are so grateful, so blessed, to have so many people to come out and show their support for us to try to get by with the loss of a great person,” said Jessica.
Wray leaves behind a 16-year-old, a 14-year-old and a 10-year-old.
“All the proceeds, every penny of it, go to my daughter and those three grandkids. So, yeah, folks have been coming out over the area to help support this,” said Jessica.
The Wray family extends a special thank you to the entire community for their outpouring generosity.
All proceeds from this benefit will go to help the Wray family.
