Small Business Expo held in the Hub City

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Small Business Expo was held at the NAACP office in Jackson.

Sabrina Parker, the President of Helping Hands of Middle and West Tennessee, partnered with the Small Business Administration to help small business owners learn more about growing their business. The event was sponsored by West Tennessee Capital System.

Some participants present were spotted writing down information that could help them start their own business.

Participants came from as far as Nashville to learn more information. This was a free public event.

David Glasgow, the district director for the Tennessee District Office, stated that small businesses cause a great impact on the community.

“There are a lot of free resources available to small businesses, whether they are just trying to get started up or whether they’re ready to grow. From training on pretty much any topic that’s available online, so you can do it whenever it’s convenient. Or one-on-one confidential coaching available through a score mentor or through the local small business development district. There’s one here in Jackson, there’s one in Dyersburg, martin and Memphis for West Tennessee,” said Glasgow.

This event lasted until 2 p.m.
