Rotary club’s guest speaker invites families to join BSA program
JACKSON, Tenn. — The rotary club welcomes a special guest. Morio Snelling Sr. Is the executive director of the West Tennessee Area Council of Scouting America.
He spoke at the Jackson Rotary Club meeting held Wednesday at First United Methodist Church.
Snelling mentioned the council’s desire to recruit families into the Boy Scouts of America program.
The area council supports scouting programs in 20 West Tennessee counties.
Snelling shared that the goal is to make sure that every youth has an opportunity to join scouting.
“It’s about cherishing those memories, going to camp, you know, earning those merit badges, making it through the ranks, you know, spending time with your family,” said Snelling.
Snelling has been involved in scouts for over 20 years and now his sons are involved as well.
Snelling shares that he is grateful for the chance to spend time camping, helping with projects and making memories with his sons.
