Freedom Aviation Network supports human trafficking victims

JACKSON, Tenn. — Human trafficking is a serious issue that affects many people around the world.

Freedom Aviation Network, a non-profit organization, focuses solely on the survivors of human trafficking.

They provide rapid, safe and efficient transportation for the survivors.

We spoke to the CEO and co-founder of F.A.N., Jared Miller, who said that there are many ways that a person could experience trafficking.

“What we want the world to understand is that human trafficking is the exploitation, force, fraud and coercion of a human being for profit period. That could be sex and labor trafficking. That could be through sexual means or forced labor means,” said Miller.

He says that the victims are not just minor children and women.

“It’s also men too. There’s boys who are affected by this. There’s grown men. In fact, to be honest, the youngest passenger that we served was an 8-month-old-boy. The oldest survivor that I ever served was an 80-year-old man,” said Miller.

Ashlee Allison, the marketing and special events coordinator for Scarlet Rope, told us how they partner with freedom aviation to do their part in making a difference, which she says is showing up.

She even read us a note from one survivor thanking Scarlet Rope and F.A.N. for their help.

Co-founder of F.A.N., Stephanie Lamar, said that she flies and organizes flights that transport the survivors to safety.

She says that F.A.N. will always be there “for the one”, which is part of their motto.

“We have flown 170 passengers with 140 flights so far,” said Lamar.

Each survivor receives a bag with items to help them and take with them to their next destination.

Although Freedom Aviation has been in effect for 2 years, the lives that they impacted have been for a lifetime.
