Fishing tournament held at Reelfoot Lake
TIPTONVILLE, Tenn.—A fishing tournament is held in one local county.
A catfish tournament was hosted by Reelfoot Lake Tourism Council this weekend.
The two-day tournament took place at White’s Landing located at 1605 State Route 21 East in Tiptonville.
The fishing began each day at 6:30 in the morning and concluded at 1:30 in the afternoon.
Trophies and cash prizes were awarded for those with the largest catches and there was a 7 fish limit imposed.
Winners were awarded 1,000 dollars for first place, 500 dollars for second place, and 250 dollars for third place.
Awards were also given for the Big Fish 1st and 2nd place.
“We have people from middle Tennessee fishing here and some from southeast Missouri and a lot of the locals. We’ve got a couple of our local guides fishing here with us today. We’re just doing it as kind of a fun event for people to come out and fish Reelfoot Lake,” said Katrina Greer, Director, Reelfoot Lake Tourism Council.
Reelfoot Lake Tourism Council’s next event will be Fireworks and Entertainment on July 5 beginning at 7 in the evening.
