We are looking at some dry weather into Tuesday as well but after a morning start in the upper 50s to lower 60s for a fall like chill, Temperatures will quickly heat up in the afternoon into the lower 90s. We’ll quickly start to feel the heat returning into the afternoon tomorrow, so enjoy the cooler day!

TROPICS:

We are watching the tropics which have already been quite busy early on in the season! Tropical storm Chris made landfall in eastern Mexico for the second tropical storm to affect Mexico in the last couple of weeks. Hurricane Beryl has has been upgraded to a major hurricane and stays worth watching over the next few days.

Beryl has sustained winds at 130 mph and movement to the west northwest at 20 mph. Pressure has continued to drop this morning down to 957 mb. Hurricane Beryl is expected to maintain as a hurricane over the next several days but right now doesn’t look like it will affect west Tennessee. It is still wise to keep up with the track and path of the system over the next few days.

RIP CURRENTS:

Double red flags have already been posted over parts of the Gulf Coast dew to riptides and waters being churned up by recent tropical storms. If you are headed to the Gulf Coast in the days ahead please be mindful of riptide conditions and avoid going in the water if red flags are posted! There has been several drownings along the Gulf coastal waters in recent weeks due to people swimming when red flags are posted along the beach.
