Beech Bluff Rec Center holds cookout to show appreciation to first responders

BEECH BLUFF, Tenn. — One community is showing its appreciation for first responders.

A special cookout was held this evening at Beech Bluff Recreation Center in partnership with Woodmen of the World.

They provided a first responders appreciation cookout where local heroes could enjoy hot dogs, burgers, chips, and a beverage for free.

Woodmen Life does community funded projects through out the year.

This quarter they chose to recognize first responders for all they do.

“The community wanted to come together and tell them thank you for what they do each adn every day. And let them know we understand what they sacrifice, what they do, and what their families go through also for them. So this is just a way to tell them thank you for what they do,” said Captain David Thompson with the Madison County Fire Department.

Next quarter, Woodmen Life plans to hold a Christmas event to help those in need during the holidays.
