TBI welcomes new Public Information Officer in West Tennessee

TBI WELCOMES NEW PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER IN WEST TENNESSEE
JACKSON – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director David Rausch has appointed an experienced communications and journalism professional to serve as the agency’s new public information officer in the 21 counties in the state’s West region
Kim Wheeler joined TBI on July 1st following a tenure as the Public Affairs Manager at the Memphis Police Department. Wheeler also brings more than 25 years of experience in television newsrooms in Memphis and Jonesboro, Arkansas.
“I am excited to join the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as Public Information Officer of the West region,” said Wheeler. “I look forward to working closely with community leaders, law enforcement, the media, and the citizens of West Tennessee.”
At TBI, Wheeler will be based in the Bureau’s Jackson and Memphis offices, where she will handle media and community relations, internal communications, social media, and a variety of special projects.
“We’re excited to have Kim on our team,” said TBI Director David Rausch. “During her interviews, she consistently impressed us with her vision for the job and her enthusiasm to help us communicate our story. We’re glad to welcome her to our already strong public affairs team.”
Josh DeVine and Susan Niland will continue to serve TBI’s Middle and East regions from TBI’s Headquarters in Nashville. Leslie Earhart handles similar responsibilities for TBI’s Upper East region from the agency’s Knoxville and Johnson City offices.
