Porchfest returns to midtown Jackson for 7th year
PRESS RELEASE FROM OUR JACKSON HOME:
OUR JACKSON HOME TO HOST PORCHFEST: PRESENTED BY JACKSON HIDDEN TRACKS
Jackson, Tenn. July 9, 2024 – Our Jackson Home, in partnership with Jackson Hidden Tracks, will host the seventh annual Porchfest event in midtown Jackson on July 31st, 2024 from 5-8 p.m.
The event is a part of the annual 731Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the city and the people of Jackson. The Porchfest event will take place from 5pm – 8pm at five homes around the Campbell Lake area of midtown. It will begin on Prospect Avenue, continuing on Crescent Avenue, and conclude on North Lake Drive.
Since its inception, Porchfest has transformed the front porches and yards of homes in the LANA neighborhood into vibrant outdoor music venues. For the second year in a row, local visual artists will install temporary art at the five host homes. Local musicians and visual artists collaborate together to create an evening of live performances and engaging art experiences in the heart of the community.
The musical lineup this year includes local musicians Izzy Arthurs, JamirOTB, Paper Watch, Alice Hardin, and Aisha D. DuBose. Visual artists designing the stages for each performance include Crystal Brown, Katie Howerton, Adam Carlucci, and Elvia Trejo.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Jackson Hidden Tracks to bring Porchfest back to midtown Jackson,” said Lizzie Emmons, Program Director of Our Jackson Home. “The event continues to showcase the incredible talent we have in our community in the middle of one of the most historic areas of Jackson.”
Porchfest: Presented by Jackson Hidden Tracks is free and open to the public, offering an accessible and family-friendly cultural experience for everyone to enjoy. Multiple food trucks will be on-site throughout the event. Porchfest T-Shirts are available for pre-order on Our Jackson Home’s website, ourjacksonhome.com.
