Jackson Parks and Rec prepares for annual Civic Pride award ceremony

JACKSON, Tenn. — After months of nominations, submissions and judging, an annual event returns to the Hub City.

The Jackson Parks and Recreation will host their 34th annual Civic Pride award ceremony.

This year all nominees are invited to the ceremony and the winners will be announced while at the celebration.

Organizers have shared that this year has the largest nominees with a total of 90.

All judges for this event are Master Gardeners from UT Extension offices.

“These aren’t just lay people like me that are going out and looking at the yards. These are trained people that know what they’re looking for and know how to properly maintain it,” said Christi David, parks operation manager.

The ceremony will be held on Friday, July 19 at city hall.
