Sneaker Sunday kicks off at Mt. Zion in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local church kicks off a special week of activities with a unique service.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church located at 201 West Chester Street in Jackson hosts its Sneaker Sunday service today.

The service, held at 10 this morning, invites members of the congregation to put on their favorite sneakers and enjoy a day of worship. 

Rev. Curtis Morman, Sr. Pastor, was there to deliver a message and the service also included a guest speaker Rev. Chelsey Klyce.

“We empowered them to have the freedom and creativity to blend these cultural norms along with the spiritual teaching that we have,” said Reverend Curtis Morman, Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Sneaker Sunday kicks off the church’s Vacation Bible School week, which is themed “Walk on Thru It.”
