Jackson Police Department swears in eight new officers during ceremony
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department welcomes eight new officers at their official swearing-in ceremony.
Police Chief Thom Corley told the newly sworn in officers that they would focus on the three C’s which are Community, Collaborative and Constitutional policing.
The recruits were explained the 4 F’s, which are Faith, Family, Fitness, and Fun.
They were encouraged to have balance in their life as they begin their journey as officers.
Each recruit had the support of their family and friends and were individually called up to the podium to receive their badge.
19 year old Jayden Denbow was recognized for being part of the Police Cadet Apprentice program, which is designed for 18-to-21 year olds.
“Hiring is a difficult thing across most professions right now, but particularly law enforcement. For us to be able to hire a couple of groups really a month or so apart is really huge for us,” said Chief Corley.
Mayor Scott Conger was also present to take pictures and shake hands with the new recruits.
