Storm Chance Back Tonight, Heat Relief on the Way!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
A cluster of storms in Arkansas are slowly moving to the southeast tonight. They will try to hold together and impact some of our counties tomorrow morning. The front itself will look to pass through tomorrow evening and not only bring a few more showers, but cooler and drier weather with it that will stick around for the end of the work week. I will let you know if the pleasant weather will be sticking around into the weekend coming up right here.

TONIGHT:
A Heat Advisory continues this evening for all of West Tennessee. The excessive heat warning was cancelled due to the mid layer clouds helping to keep the temperatures down a little bit today, but it was still very humid and regardless, it was still a hot Tuesday. Skies were partly cloudy and the winds were a bit breezy at times and came out of the southwest. The reason it will be a bit breezy will be due to a cold front that will be getting closer by the hour late Tuesday. As the front gets closer tonight, some showers and storms will try to develop. Chances for rain are 40% tonight. Highs reached the low to mid 90s and lows will fall down to the mid to upper 70s Tuesday night.

WEDNESDAY:
A cold front is on the way for Wednesday and that will bring a chance for some showers and storms as well as some cooler weather later in the day after the front passes. Skies will be partly cloudy but could become mostly cloudy in the evening. Conditions will start out humid but drier air will be arriving later in the day. Highs on Wednesday will reach the low 90s and Wednesday night lows will drop back down to around 70°. We are not expecting severe weather but a couple rounds of showers and storms can be expected. Chances for rain are 50% on Wednesday. The winds will shift from the southwest, to the west and then to the northwest overnight into Thursday morning.

THURSDAY:
As the front stall out across the Mid South, it will likely keep shower and storms chances around for our Thursday in West Tennessee. Severe weather is not expected but a couple of stronger storms cannot be ruled out. Chances for rain are 70% on Thursday. Behind the mid week front, highs will only reach the mid 80s on Thursday and Thursday night lows will fall down to the mid 60s to kick off our Friday. Skies will be mostly cloudy but will try to break up some Thursday night. The winds are forecast to come out of the northeast on Thursday.

FRIDAY:
Although a couple showers cannot be ruled out on Friday, rain chances are only 10% as of now. Friday will remain cool with highs in the mid 80s. Friday night lows will again fall down to the mid 60s to kick off the weekend. Skies will be mostly sunny and the winds are expected to come out of the north keeping the humidity down some. Friday look to be a pretty nice day for all of us.
THE WEEKEND:
A cooler weekend looks to be on the way for West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid 80s on Saturday and upper 80s on Sunday. Although a few showers cannot be ruled out on Saturday, rain chances look to be a little higher on Sunday. Skies will be mostly sunny on Saturday and partly cloudy on Sunday. The winds are still expected to come out of the north this weekend and may try to shift back to the east late in the weekend. We will be watching the forecast closely this week and hope to have a better idea on the timing and storm chances over the next few days.
FINAL THOUGHT:
After another very hot start to the work week in West Tennessee, cooler and drier weather will move back in during the middle and end of the work week. Rain chances will also try to return in the middle of the week and there could be more showers or storms later this weekend as well. Southwest winds will be replaced by northerly winds as well toward the back half of the work week. Severe weather seems unlikely for most of us this week and the tropics are looking quiet as of now. We will see how much longer that lasts for through.
