Memorial created in Humboldt for 8-year-old murder victim
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A memorial was created in honor of an 8-year-old girl who died this week in Humboldt.
The memorial consists of flowers, candles, balloons, teddy bears, and a poster for friends and family to sign.
According to the Humboldt Police Department, on Monday, July 15, officers were dispatched to Mitchell Street in response to an unresponsive young girl.
According to District Attorney General Frederick Agee, the Humboldt Police Department has filed a petition for delinquency on a 12-year-old child and the child is accused of first degree murder.
Neither the victim nor the charged juvenile were residents of Humboldt or the local area, they both were visiting family.
